A Prayer for 2016

God of All,

Change my heart. Take over the core of me. For the only way for powerful changes to happen in our world is for powerful changes to happen in me.

May Your Truth and Love in me create change throughout the world,

so that…

…the hungry will have meals

…the lonely will have a friend

…the sick will have comfort

…the hurting will be held

…the children will be protected

…the elderly will be respected

…the outcast will be included

…the refugee will be received

…governments will help the poor

…wars will end

…fences will be removed

…soldiers will put down their weapons

…stability will return

…doors will remain open

…fears will be replaced

…peace will be embraced

…worship will be what we do every day, not just songs on Sundays

…giving will be a lifestyle, not just a monetary obligation

…religion will be a relationship with God, not just following a book

…love will be an extravagant act, not just a few words spoken

…all will be welcome

…all will care

…all will hope

…all will see You here, among us.

 

Touch our earth with Your divinity, once again.

Do something different.

Surprise us.

Come into our doubts and help us to believe.

Come into our darkness and help us not to be afraid.

Come into our silence and help us to hear You.

Help us to be open and vulnerable to You as You were to us.

Come.

Now.

Create.

Heal.

May it begin with me.
