Bits of Being

thoughts on life, faith, family….and, yes, just learning to "be"

For life’s dark moments

= 1702

When life is dark, look for the light.

When the light shines too brightly, wear sunglasses.

When the sunglasses hide too much, take them off.

When your eyes are full of tears, water the flower growing between the rocks.

When the rocks are about to crush you, throw them into the well of forgiveness.

When the well of forgiveness dries up, go dig another well.

When the digging gets too hard, accept the offer of help from a friend.

When that friend collapses from exhaustion, extend a hand to help them up.

When they get up, keep holding hands and dance.

When others start watching your dance, pull them into your circle.

When the circle gets too big, turn the music up.

When the song is finished, keep humming the tune.

When you’ve lost the melody, listen for the still, small Voice still singing the song.
