God’s Tools for a Healthy, Happy, Long Life by Jessica Mutunga, FDN-P

If you want a quick and easy read covering the basics of choosing a healthy lifestyle, this book is for you. The author concisely flies through a wide variety of topics including growing your own food, using herbs, exercise, the need for community, and digging into Scripture. Each topic is covered lightly, the basics are covered, and a few practical tips are given for each subject as she shows how diet, rest, exercise, and stress reduction can help each person to restore health in their body, mind, and soul.

Taken as a whole, applying all of these at once to your life can seem overwhelming. Taken individually and slowly, the steps can be helpful although each could be dug into deeper. The author does give reflection questions after each chapter to help you to think about how you can apply that chapter to your life. You can also get an Action Guide along with the book that provides more space for journaling. Since the author is also a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and Christian Health Coach, she gives information in the conclusion on booking one free consultation with her, and other ways to follow up.
